AN OPEN LETTER FROM A FAN
october 22, 1998

well, tonight was the night that i find out oren krumm, my young good friend, has left this life. an amazing clear soul with positive convictions and an unwavering awareness of his right to express himself, he was all of my years, living only nineteen of his own.

he must have seen me as someone who shared a love of music and an "older person," an experienced "professional" who had validated his uncommon state of being. he was probably unaware that his acceptance of me made my life feel valid.

with a love for the obscure and rebellious, and parents brave and loving enough to embrace and support all aspects of this person, he lived free and full enough in his eighteen years as any of us could hope to in ninety. he embodied the spirit of the youth in the keewana and cut a path for the not so average.

he was kind, intelligent, respectful, generous and cool, and he left as he lived, innocently. you were here, and now you are everywhere.
